Why Support Us?

At the North East STEM Foundation, we are dedicated to making a positive and lasting
impact on the lives of students in the North East region. STEM education is the cornerstone
of innovation and progress in today's rapidly evolving world.

Through our Primary STEM events, we are sparking curiosity from a young age and laying
the foundation for a future interest in STEM fields. These events provide students with
hands-on activities that encourage problem-solving, teamwork and creativity and provide
students with real world role models , showing students that STEM careers are exciting,
attainable and diverse.
To date we’ve reached over 5,000 children across 38 schools partnering with schools and
colleges across the region to deliver workshops and providing access to STEM curriculum
resources.
Some of our industry supporters are; Sir Robert McAlpine, Waterman Aspen, Tekmar,
Hitachi, AESC, CPI, Tridonic UK Ltd, Esh Group, Sparks Tees Valley, Filtronic, Tracerco and
Jacobs.
Local employers provide their time and resources to deliver impactful STEM workshops, the
NESF through the generosity of our members and supporters are able to fund the transport
costs for schools to attend these events.
Here from some of our supporters and why they want to get involved.

As a NESF Ambassador your contribution is invaluable in ensuring we widen our reach across industry, to encourage partnerships and participation in STEM events which will highlight to students the exciting and varied career opportunities available within the sector.

To do this we are asking Ambassadors to talk to your networks encouraging them to
participate in STEM events throughout the region.

Please find below a summary of the key responsibilities and expectations associated
with your role.

  •  Promote the work of the NESF by sharing your involvement and experience with your own networks and business contacts.

  • Follow NESF on LinkedIn and help raise the NESF profile via social media posts (minimum 2 per quarter). Tag in the NESF & board members.

  • Attend as many events per year which are for the main purpose of promoting STEM within the primary school programme.

  • Participate in at least two NESF fundraising events each year.

  • Encourage businesses to become a NESF Member, providing them with the opportunity to participate in school STEM events facilitated by the NESF, which will give them a platform to promote their businesses and the career choices available to young people.

Or you may want to become a registered STEM Ambassador with STEM Learning
The North East STEM Foundation is working in partnership with RTC North to encourage individuals who have a passion for STEM to register as a STEM Ambassador.

The STEM Ambassador program is a UK-based initiative that recruits volunteers from the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to inspire and engage young people in STEM subjects and careers. These volunteers, known as STEM Ambassadors, visit schools, colleges, and community groups to share their expertise, passion, and real-world experiences with students. The program aims to promote STEM
education, raise awareness of STEM careers, and help young people develop essential skills for the future. STEM Ambassadors play a crucial role in fostering enthusiasm for STEM
subjects and encouraging the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators. For more information and how to register, please see

This is a free platform for all to use.
